Jack And The Giant

On this page, you’ll find all sorts of fantastical information about Andrew & James’ original musical, ‘Jack and The Giant’ - inspired by the classic fairytale, Jack and the Beanstalk. Interested? To quote Princess Amelia, “Read on… Find out…”

How it began…

Jack And The Giant is an enchanting new musical from the writing team Andrew & James, (with additional contributions from Douglas Makuta and Jay Mobley). The show began its development as a commission from the Northeast Children's Theater Company, then continued its growth thanks to a workshop production at The Greater Boston Stage Company. With an all-new book, many new songs, and a greatly expanded plot, JATG celebrated its world premiere at the Artists’ Cooperative Theater in Nashville, TN!

What happens…

Based loosely on the classic fairytale, Jack and the Beanstalk, the show follows a scrappy orphan named Jack, who has spent all of his young life in a tiny village on the fjord, but when a storm delivers a curious sailboat to the shore, he embarks on an epic adventure to slay a giant and reclaim an enchanted golden harp! JATG is written for a cast of five accompanied by a single guitar, making it a perfect show for intimate venues. In Spring, 2019, Andrew & James will begin licensing the performance rights to JATG to theaters far and wide! Are you a theater company, producer, or theater professional wishing to inquire about perusing a script and/or presenting the show? Please reach out to us via the CHAT page.
